Adv. Tšeliso Mokoko graduated from the National University of Lesotho, having obtained LLB, and was duly admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Lesotho and Courts of Lesotho in 1999.
Shortly after his admission, Adv. Tšeliso Mokoko was employed in the civil service, at the Ministry of Justice, placed at the Legal Aid as the Legal Aid Counsel. The main mandate of that office was to represent indigent people in all the courts of Lesotho, for a variety of cases and to offer legal counselling to clients. Around 2003, he resigned from the civil service and joined private practice, wherein he dealt mostly with civil matters.
In August, 2017, he was appointed as the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftainship. Around May, 2018, he was transferred to the Ministry of Defence and National Security. In June, 2019, Adv. Tšeliso Mokoko was appointed as the Ombudsman at the office of the Ombudsman.
